The Nenets Autonomous Okrug is recognized as the winner of the World Investment Award "Investment Angel".
In the nomination "The most investment-attractive regions of Russia, " subjects of the Russian Federation showed the best results in attracting foreign direct investment in their territory in 2009. Foreign investments in the Nenets Okrug in 2009 amounted to $483.3 million for nine months of 2010 - $392.1 million. Together with the NAO, the Kaluga and Amur regions were named laureates in the same nomination.
